"For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward,
not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious,
not fond of sordid gain, but hospitable, loving what is good, sensible,
just, devout, self-controlled, holding fast the faithful word which
is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to
exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict"
(Titus 1:7-9).
FACC strives to follow the scriptural model for church leadership
and seeks prayer support, and guidance from three men who exhibit their
love for Christ within the Church, their families, and their workplaces.

"What
do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has
gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and
go and search for the one that is straying? "If it turns out
that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than
over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. "So it is not
the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little
ones perish" (Matthew 18:12-14).
Wayne Heimer has both metaphorical and literal experience with sheep
as a retired Dall Sheep Biologist for the State of Alaska. He is a
keen observer and a rational thinker with a gift for synthesizing
data and making it accessible to learners at many levels. His reverence
for God's Word makes him a willing follower, and his experience and
devotion make him an able herdsman.

Don Norris
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot
be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in
the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that
they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:14-16).
Don Norris is a light for God in a dim world and does his best to
illuminate others both through his strong witness and his occupation
as an electrician. Bringing light and power into the lives of his
children and community, Don's outgoing and congenial personality combines
with his interest in sports to make him an active example of a devoted
Christian.

Virgil Severns
"Therefore
let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a cloud of
witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily
beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before
us, looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who
for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame,
and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews
12:1-2)
Virgil has
proven himself fit as an athlete and a faithful servant of God. He
was a world class high jumper some years ago and he is deeply familiar
with what it is like to run the race of life and keep his eye on his
goal. Virgil knows how to nurture and grow everything from zucchini
to grandchildren and lives a life abundant in both. Grateful for God's
provision to him, Virgil provides those of us who know him with an
example of how to keep from becoming burdened by the weight of the
world as we stay fixed on the prize of Christ.
